Yama Yunomi – Morning Mist

A handthrown Yunomi with a soft cream speckled glaze and a quiet green band, resting above a carved base where the white clay shows through beneath the glaze. Hand-carved lines rise from the foot like the contours of a hillside, and a small flower is carved into the underside of the foot, hidden until the cup is lifted. A calm, grounded piece for tea or small everyday drinks. Each piece is made and finished individually, so small differences in carving, glaze and form are part of its handmade character.
